A Grex History Presentation with Charla Hayden

Charla Hayden is an organizational development consultant currently based in Oregon. Her extensive teaching credits include Oregon Health and Science University, the Wright Institute of LA, Cal State Health Training Center, Stanford Graduate School of Business, OHSU School of Nursing, University of Judaism of LA and Cal State Northridge, among others. Please join us as Hayden, the only remaining founding member of SCOLA, shares histories of:
-The 5 people who chartered SCOLA, and why-SCOLA’s relationship to the VA Brentwood, as well as the UCLA Departments of Psychiatry, Psychology, and eventually others-Who, why, and when SCOLA took on the Grex name-How SCOLA/Grex was early-on embedded in professional mental health education, and later how they tried to take up burning sociocultural issues of the time: race, gender, class, and the conditions of the Vietnam War
